SPRING ENGLISH CONFERENCE APRIL 27

The DePaul English Department invites you to attend our 9th Annual Spring English Conference on Friday, April 27 from 9:30 AM – 4:30 PM in Arts & Letters Hall.

 

This daylong event celebrates and showcases the work of DePaul undergraduate and graduate students. Creative writing presentations include Poetry, Speculative Fiction, Fiction, and Creative Nonfiction. Literary studies presentations include Sexuality & Love, Identity & Class, and Music & Religion.

 

We’re excited to welcome Nate Marshall as this year’s keynote speaker. Nate Marshall is from the South Side of Chicago. He is the author of Wild Hundreds and an editor of The BreakBeat Poets: New American Poetry in the Age of Hip-Hop. His last rap album, Grown, came out in 2015 with his group Daily Lyrical Product. He is the Director of National Programs for Louder Than A Bomb Youth Poetry Festival and has taught at The University of Michigan, Wabash College, and Northwestern University.

 

The keynote will take place from 1-2:15 PM in Arts & Letters room 103. Reception and refreshments to follow.
