Dear colleagues,
In Sunday’s papers, two of our colleagues, Barrie Borich and Michele Morano published occasional essays, meditating on matters of the moment: Barrie’s “What Lily Tomlin’s Marriage Means to Me and My Partner” was published in the Washington Post and Michele’s “Learning To Be Your Own Best Valentine” appeared in the Chicago Tribune. Please join me in congratulating them both!
Both essays were written with the support of the DePaul’s second session of the OpEd Project’s Public Voices Thought Leadership Greenhouse. For more information on DePaul’s participation in the OpEd Project, see http://newsline.depaul.edu/Pages/OpEdProject.aspx Michele and Barrie are the second and third English faculty to participate in the Greenhouse. This is Michele’s second opinion essay; her “The Terrible Simplicity of Global Warming” was published a couple of weeks ago in the Huffington Post. Francesca Royster also participated in the first Op Ed session in 2012-2013; she now has a regular column in The Windy City Times—see her latest here.
Happy Reading!
Professor Lucy Rinehart.
