Stillhouse Press is a student- and alumni-run teaching press based in Fairfax, Virginia and run in coordination with George Mason University’s MFA and BFA programs in creative writing, and they’re recently opened submissions for three opportunities.
They are seeking novellas between 25,000 and 40,000 words for their first-ever Novella Contest, featuring a $500 prize. They are also seeking literary novels and memoirs between 50,000 and 100,000 words for their general reading period. All submissions received are considered for publication.
There is a fee to submit, due to the cost of Submittable, but they also offer fee waivers for marginalized writers. The complete submission guidelines can be found on their website, including information on how to request a fee waiver. Their submission guidelines are also available via Submittable.
