In the interest of being more accessible during this time, Black Warrior Review is making Secret Boyfriend (the latest edition of their online magazine, Boyfriend Village) open to FREE submissions until Wednesday, March 25 at 11:59 pm.
Boyfriend Village accepts fiction, poetry, nonfiction, hybrid, visual, and multimedia art, as well as sound collage, video, games, and more. The complete guidelines and call for submissions can be found here. All contributors to Boyfriend Village are paid.
Established in 1974 by graduate students in the MFA program in creative writing, BWR is the oldest continuously run literary journal produced by graduate students in the United States. Boyfriend Village seeks to be a fully accessible space for unusual, boundary-pushing literary content, especially work from the margins, work that makes exciting use of digital platforms, and work that other well-established journals might overlook.
