Nowhere Magazine, a literary travel-writing publication, is now open for submissions to their Fall contests! Founded in 2008, Nowhere awards two authors per year $1,000 each for their winning entry into their spring and fall writing contests.
They publish long-form, resonant non-fiction, fiction, essays and poetry—no lists, no guides, no fluff—penned by a diverse cohort of writers. For some, Nowhere has introduced their first published piece; for others, they are a home for an outstanding reprint or an excerpt from a forthcoming book, or a way to share something traditional travel media simply doesn’t notice.
Nowhere showcases a good deal of first-time writers as well as seasoned and well-known authors, and welcome entries from DePaul students. General guidelines can be found here, and details about the contests—open to submissions—are available here. The early-bird entry fee is $20 per story; this will increase on December 1, 2019, through contest’s end on January 1, 2020.
