The Sonora Review is pleased to announce that it is open to contest submissions for Issue 75: DESIRE until November 5th.
Sonora Review is run entirely by graduate students in the MFA program at the University of Arizona. They are among the oldest student-run literary journals in the country, and the SR has been devoted since its founding in 1980 to offering a venue for exciting new and emerging authors, as well as prominent southwestern writers and artists.
Guidelines:
The theme is DESIRE. For a sense of what they are looking for, please see the contest submissions preview. Include a cover letter with a brief biography, your contact information and any other pertinent information about your submission. Please remove your name or any other identifying marks from your manuscript before uploading. Please state the word count of your piece on the first page of the document.
- For Flash Prose Submissions ($8 entry fee): You may submit up to three flash prose pieces in your submission (1000 words or less for each). Click here to submit.
- For Nonfiction submissions ($15 entry fee): You may submit an essay of up to 5000 words for consideration. Click here to submit.

Prizes:
$1000 and publication in Issue 75 of Sonora Review will be awarded for each winner (of the Flash Prose and Nonfiction contests).
