Gulf Coast: A Journal of Literature and Fine Arts, is currently accepting submissions for the annual Gulf Coast Prize contests! There are three all-star final judges, including Chen Chen (Poetry), Joshua Ferris (Fiction), and Lacy M. Johnson (Nonfiction).
The contest awards publication and $1,500 each to the best poem, essay, and short story, as well as $250 to two honorable mentions in each genre. The winners will appear in the Fall/Winter issue. All contest submissions will also be considered for paid online exclusives on GC Online.
The reading fee of $23 includes a one-year subscription to Gulf Coast and is used to support the publication of and payments to writers. They pay $50 per page, and each year they publish over 600 pages of fine art and literature from some of the most talented new, mid-career, and established authors and artists around the world.
