Autumn ‘17 MAE Final Requirement Information

Attention MAE Students:

Here are important details about registering for the Autumn ‘17 MAE Final Requirement.

Who Needs to Register: Current MAE students who have completed their course requirements and current MAE students who will complete their course requirements in Autumn ’17. The deadline for applying for Autumn 17 Degree Conferral is Thursday, September 28.

Registration for Final Requirement: If you plan on submitting your Portfolio or your Thesis in Autumn ‘17, please send the following information by Thursday, September 28, 2017 to Ms. Jan Hickey jhicke11@depaul.edu. It is very important that you submit this information so that we can send you updates throughout the quarter and results at the end of the quarter.

  • Name of a Thesis Faculty Advisor (only those students choosing to submit a Thesis)
  • Whether or not you need to be registered in ENG 502 Candidacy Continuation

Digication Training: The Capstone Portfolio is submitted on Digication, a type of digital portfolio utilized by students to document their professional development. If you are unfamiliar with Digication, please contact Richard Squibbs at rsquibbs@depaul.edu  to set up an individual appointment so that he can explain the process to you.

Candidacy Continuation: If you have completed your course requirements, we will need to register you for English 502, Candidacy Continuation, for the Autumn ’17 Quarter. ENG 502 requires a $40.00 fee. It allows your name to remain active in the PeopleSoft system, thereby making it easier to use the library, register for degree conferral, etc. If you need to be registered in ENG 502, please contact Ms. Jan Hickey jhicke11@depaul.edu as soon as possible.

Final Requirement Form for Students Submitting a Thesis: The LA&S Graduate Student Services Office now requires that MAE students who submit a Thesis as Final Requirement complete and submit the Final Requirement Form before their application for Degree Conferral will be considered. The new online version is available at https://lascollege.depaul.edu/FinalRequirements/  You and your faculty advisor should acquaint yourselves with this form before submitting it.

****Students submitting a Capstone Portfolio as a Final Requirement do not have to submit the Final Requirement Form. We will send that information to the LA&S Graduate Student Services Office through the Department.

The Autumn ’17 Capstone Portfolio will be due on the last day of classes for the Autumn Quarter, November 14, 2017.
