As the end of Fall Quarter draws near, Ex Libris would like to share some exciting news and express congratulations to a few faculty members.
First, congratulations to Jeremy Mulderig on the continued success of his book Phillip Sparrow Tells All which received a glowing review in the Times Literary Supplement. See a preview of the review here, or find a hard copy of the full review in the library!
Next, Bill Johnson González is also due for a round of applause. Professor Johnson-Gonzalez has been researching the Bracero Project for special issue of DePaul’s interdisciplinary journal Diálogo. Professor Johnson-Gonzalez was interviewed by Entrevista Radio Univision and will be speaking to the Mexican Consulate this week. Congrats!
Miles Harvey and the entire team at Big Shoulders Books are also receiving praise this week in a touching write-up in the Chicago Tribune on the importance of the literary arts in combating violence in Chicago which included praise of their publication How Long Will I Cry?: Voices of Youth Violence.
And finally, a warm congratulations to Janet Hickey who welcomed Reece Charles Priebe, a new grandchild, to the world last week!
